13 July 2013

For those interested in following the progress of the 2013 Fremantle International Portrait Prize stage one of judging is now complete.
Each of the three judges spent three days and three nights carefully  examining all 1760 entries and draughting them into a hierarchy of folders. During the first stage the judges work individually with no consultation with fellow judges or anyone else.

The next stage is the amalgamation of the folders and ratings to identify acceptances, short-listed and finalists.

In the final judging stage the three judges will come together, view the images in detail to discuss and argue the merits of the 75 finalists.
