The Story:
'The Carnival in Venice is celebrated prior to Lent. History depicts a celebration whereby revellers would enjoy several weeks of partying to rid their pantry of meat prior to the 40 days of fasting. Today, the 18th century traditions continue ... with day and night street parties, balls and events whereby revellers dress in costumes and masks'
